Control fractioning columns, heat exchangers and related equipment to extract nitrogen and oxygen from air. Adjust temperature, pressure, vacuum, level and flow gauges to ensure standard operation. Operate reducing stations and charge high pressure cylinders with nitrogen and oxygen gases. Operate fire and flushing pumps; A/C circulating and refer pumps; and potable water pumps for ships service. Adjust thermal expansion valves, pressure switches, thermostats, and regulator valves. Clean and perform preventive and corrective repairs on equipment using hand tools. Prepare weekly maintenance schedules,
plant logs and watch bills.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Safely produced, stored, converted and distributed 50,000 gallons of liquid nitrogen and oxygen per year in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
Repaired 30 air, water and oil system leaks on six high pressure air compressors with record speed, returning the equipment to full service capacity in half the time expected, enabling the ship?s mission accomplishment during the 2002 Spring deployment.
Identified and corrected 150 HP and LP Air valve deficiencies, resulting in increased efficiency and higher operational readiness of the ship's overall air system.
Lead the repairs of 12 defective expansion valves, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the two liquid Oxygen/Nitrogen Generating Plants.
Supervised the successful removal and reinstallation of four Nitrogen reducing stations, vital for the proper Nitrogen distribution throughout the ship.
