One of the main duties of a BRAC
implementation team is to provide the organization’s HR support group
with the very best estimates on the date of billet transfer. This date
then sets into motion a series of employee notifications and employee
responses. It is tantamount that the schedule estimates be based on
realistic schedules for the construction and outfitting of the receiving
base buildings and an orderly sequence of relocation activities. The
moving employees have to plan their real estate transactions, household
moving schedules and school-year relationships which are mostly driven
by the BRAC implementation schedule estimates. Continuously close
coordination with the organization’s HR support group by providing early
notification of schedule revisions will help to minimize the ‘pain’ on
the workforce.
